Hopefully you answered yes to that question.  If you answered no then have no fear, this article will help you get started in the very lucrative and response rich text marketing world.  Text messages have a read rate of 95%.

Yes, you read that correctly.  95% of all text messages are read.  And the response rate is great too!  Matter of fact it is over 20%.  Compare this to direct marketing and email marketing and you will see that text message marketing can drive a lot of traffic to your website or your physical place of business.

Here are 6 good reasons text messaging is so powerful:

  1. Customers must opt-in to receive your offers (I am constantly getting text messages from Smoothie King with free coupons)
  2. People carry their cell phones around with them everywhere.  Some even take them to the bathroom!
  3. Text messages get read 95% of the time compared with mail that typically gets thrown away.
  4. Friends will tell friends to sign up (that’s how Smoothie King got me)
  5. You can time your offer to coincide with your customer getting off of work, going to work, preparing for holidays (think about Valentines Day.  Wouldn’t it be great to get a reminder to pick up flowers from the florist via text?)
